Duty to God

Educate the Educators

  • That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them  to their children: 7That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:–Psalm 78:6-7
  • Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons—Deut. 4:9

Educate Them about God

  • That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:8And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.—Psalm 78:7-8
  • . . . shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.—Psalm 78:4
  • so that you and your son and your grandson might fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.—Deut. 6:2

JERUSALEM

  • Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, at the mountain which God has desired for His abode? Surely the Lord will dwell there forever.—Psalm 68:16
  • For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation. 14 “This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.—Psalm 132:13-14
  • Thus says the Lord God, This is Jerusalem; I have set her at the center of the nations, with lands around her.—Ezekiel 5:5
  • The LORD, the God of their fathers, sent word to them again and again by His messengers, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place; 16but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against His people, until there was no remedy.—2 Samuel 5:9

Christ will Return

  • And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.—Zechariah 14:9
  • “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.—Zechariah 12:10
  • “In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity.—Zechariah 13:1
  • Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.—Zechariah 14:3
  • Now this will be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.—Zechariah 14:12

Christ will Reign

  • And it will come about in the last days That the mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, And the peoples will stream to it . . . “In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will assemble the lame And gather the outcasts, Even those whom I have afflicted. 7 “I will make the lame a remnant And the outcasts a strong nation, And the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion From now on and forever.— Micah 4:1, 6-7
  • The nations will see your righteousness, And all kings your glory; And you will be called by a new name Which the mouth of the Lord will 3 You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem in the hand of your God. . . And give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.—Isaiah 62:2-3, 7
  • then the Lord will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy. 6 There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.—Isaiah 4:5-6

Christ will Renew All Things

  • Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them—Revelation 21:1-3
  • There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; 4they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. 5And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.—Revelation 22:3-5

Precious Woman

The Wife of a Man

  • The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib, which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”—Genesis 2:22-23
  • An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones.—Proverbs 12:4
  • For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.—1 Corinthians 11:7
  • There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.—1 Cor. 15:41

The Type of the Church

  • Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her . . . —Ephesians 5:25, 32
  • This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.—Ephesians 5:32
