God in Flesh
John 1:14
Experienced Serious Disregard
- This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. . . So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.—Luke 2:12, 16
- and as they were returning, after spending the full number of days, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. But His parents were unaware of it, 44but supposed Him to be in the caravan, and went a day’s journey; and they began looking for Him among their relatives and acquaintances.—Luke 2:43-44
- And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”. . . And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things; 29and they got up and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.—Luke 4:22, 28-29
Experienced Stern Disrespect
- But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”.—Luke 23:18
- Then they spat in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him, 68and said, “Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is the one who hit You?”—Matthew 26:67-68
- “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!” 38Now there was also an inscription above Him, “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”—Luke 23:37-38
- And the people stood by, looking on. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.”—Luke 23:35
