Proverbs 11:1-11 *

 

Provides Direction

• 3The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. 5The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.—Proverbs 11: 3,5
• he that walketh uprightly walketh surely.—Proverb 10:9a

Prevents Destruction

• 4Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. . . 8The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead. 9An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.—Proverbs 11:4, 8-9
• Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness—Psalm 112:4

Promotes Progression

• By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.—Proverbs 11:11
• 28He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. . . 31Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.—Proverbs 11:28, 31

Proliferate Heart’s Modesty *

He said, “I am A VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, ‘MAKE STRAIGHT THE WAY OF THE LORD,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”—John 1:19-23

But John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?”—Matthew 3:14

“As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.—Luke 3:16

“He must increase, but I must decrease.—John 3:30

“It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant,”—Matthew 20:26

Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.—John 13:4-5

Protect Mind’s Integrity *

The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.—Proverbs 11:3

But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ palaces!—Matthew 11:8

Perpetuate Soul’s Purity *

“For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb.”—Luke 1:15

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?—Psalm 11:3
